SEO (Search Engine Optimization): an all encompassing term used to describe the act or practice of making a website more user friendly, indexable (by search engines), relevant, and popular in order to be located higher in SERPs (Search Engine Result Page)
Link Building: the process of selecting and associating relevant outbound/inbound links from other websites to your own.
Reciprocal Links: quality hand selected links that you trade with another web master.
Black Hat SEO: Search engine optimization techniques used to “game” of fraudulently rank websites in search engines such as Google; practices against Google’s terms of service.
Indexable: The level of ease/difficulty required to index your website’s architecture/layout by web crawlers such as Google Bot.
Google Bot: A web crawler developed and maintained by Google
Web crawler: a software program/script used to index/catalog your website for search results on a search engine such as Google
SERP (Search Engine Result Page): The page in which a website is located for a given term. Example: mysite.com is on SERP page 2 for the term “Internet Marketing”
PPC (Pay Per Click): Term describes a form of internet advertising in which a client pays for website traffic and ad placement in highly visible locations on a SERP (search engine results page)
Spammy: Poor user experience, many advertisements on the page, popups, strict requirements to opt-in for information, duplicate content, stolen content, and the like
